Broomdasher Celebrate "Garden" Centenary At London Open Squares Weekend

Acapella folk group Broomdasher will mark the centenary of Percy Grainger's "English Country Garden" with a special show at Middle Temple Garden on Sunday 9 June as part of London Open Squares weekend.

They will sing their "Garden Set" at the atmospheric location in MiddleTemple Lane, by The Embankment, three times during the afternoon, to celebrate Percy Grainger's arrangement of the traditional folk song, which he composed in 1919 as a birthday present for his mother.

Visitors can enjoy refreshments as they listen to songs about flowers; spring; summer; harvest and love from the six-voice group, who have rapidly earned praise and plaudits in the folk world since they formed two years ago.
